Traditional designs follow a strict scheme. The navigation is always
on top and on the left side of the page. Traditional web pages don't
have to be plain, by adding some curves to the corners, using the
right colors, and utilizing flash properly, a traditional web site
layout would appeal to most demographics.
Informational Design
The informational layout is most commonly used by government sites.
With virtually hundreds of links these sites require allot of room
for navigation. Using the proper methods it is still possible to
achieve form and function.
Visual Design
This layout commonly hosts the navigation on the top as well as
bottom of the page. Aimed more towards visual content, rather than
text content these web sites don't really hold a specific look. Great
for people who have a lot of pictures or art to show off. The web
site usually becomes an art piece it's self.
